A retail store manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a store/branch in accordance with overall company policy, with the key objectives of maximising retail sales and minimising costs, thus producing maximum profit contribution.

The retail store manager has responsibility for one major activity under which many other sub-activities fall - that key activity being sound commercial management. As a store manager drives the commercial performance of the store, action will be required in a number of other key retail store management activities.
