The role of sales assistant in a retail store is one of the most important. Without sales assistants in the retail store environment it would be difficult to have a successful retail business.

Typically a retail sales assistant will have responsibility for two key areas - customer service delivery and sales floor tasking. You will be responsible for serving customers on the shop floor, advising on product selection, fitting-room duties, cashier duties and completing sales orders. It is also normal to have responsibility for a section on the sales floor where duties will include product flow, visual merchandising and a degree of commercial management. Often this is the first step towards becoming an assistant retail manager and eventually a store manager. Retail is both exciting and rewarding.
