Congratulations!
You achieved your goal! You now need to decide if the move is absolutely right for you as an individual. Do the details of the job offer match your initial requirements? Is the salary in line with your expectations? Is the location right? Are the bonuses and benefits detailed in the contract a true reflection of the initial briefing? In most cases the answer to these questions will be a resounding YES! In this instance you should accept the position by telephone and then follow up in writing to the hiring manager detailed in the offer letter.
In the unlikely event the offer does not meet your requirements it is now time to place a call to the hiring manager and negotiate. This can be tricky. You do however have the right to negotiate but proceed with good manners and grace. In most cases an employer will be pleased that you have questioned the offer and will be willing to show some flexibility. If however the contents of the offer are not negotiable you may have to consider declining the opportunity. Again if you do decline, ensure you do so with good manners and good grace.
